Building today's youth... Tomorrow's leaders

Community Outreach

Our parent involvement has increased over the years, as BCYL has evolved into a community with entire families assisting and sharing in the activities. Various family functions, such as picnics, outings, sports trips and community events, are scheduled throughout the year. Many players who have graduated from the league have returned to become assistant coaches, scorekeepers and/or to help with field setup.

Parent Forum

Bridgeport Caribe Youth League in partnership with Career Resources held a Fatherhood Workshop for single fathers to present them with information on being involved and productive in their child’s life.  Additional workshops on Gang Awareness, College Admission and Financial Aid will be held this year.

Taking it to the Park/Court

Community leaders have visited the fields/courts to speak with the young men, women and parents of the league about their career and the obstacles they overcame to become a leader. The speakers discuss the importance of education and giving back to the community.
