Cheerleading Head Coach (Volunteer)
RESPONSIBILITIES
The coach will provide project and management support to ensure the successful operation of the BCYL office. He/she will perform a variety of duties which include but are not limited to:
· The coach must embrace BCYL’s mission
· The coach serves as a mentor and as an example for the youth to be engaged and involved with BCYL.
· Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards cheerleaders
· The coach will foster an environment where cheerleaders are motivated to achieve their aspirations, become better citizens via proper mental and physical development.
· Arrive timely prior for practiced and performances
· Maintain a physically safe environment and plan effective practices
· Inform players/parents about games, practices, events, cancellations, and make-ups
· Encourage the involvement of the parents as volunteers for fundraising and assistance if necessary
· Report accident or incident immediately following the game to Director of Sports and Office Manager
· Coordinate with Director of Sports regarding uniform, equipment needs and practice facility.
· Maintain daily attendance for cheerleaders
QUALIFICATIONS
· Basic Knowledge of the Sport they coach.
· Must be detail-oriented and highly organized.
· Maintain a professional attitude, be a team player, and have the ability to handle confidential information.
REPORTS TO
Director of Sports
This is a volunteer position. All candidates are subject to a background check and be CPR/First Aid certified.
